Swine influenza (also called swine flu, hog flu, and pig flu) is an infection of a host animal by any one of several specific types of microscopic organisms called "swine influenza virus". In 2009 the media labeled as "swine flu" flu caused by 2009's new strain of swine-origin A/H1N1 pandemic virus just as it had earlier dubbed as "avian flu" flu caused by the recent Asian-linage HPAI (High Pathogenic Avian Influenza) H5N1 strain that is still endemic in many wild bird species in several countries.


A swine influenza virus (SIV) is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is usually hosted by (is endemic in) pigs.[2] As of 2009, the known SIV strains are the influenza C virus and the subtypes of the influenza A virus known as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3. Swine influenza is common in pigs in the United States (particularly in the midwest and occasionally in other states), Mexico, Canada, South America, Europe (including the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Italy), Kenya, and eastern Asia (namely China, Taiwan, and Japan).[2]

Transmission of swine influenza virus from pigs to humans is not common and does not always cause human influenza, often only resulting in the production of antibodies in the blood. The meat of the animal poses no risk of transmitting the virus when properly cooked. If transmission does cause human influenza, it is called zoonotic swine flu. People who work with pigs, especially people with intense exposures, are at increased risk of catching swine flu. In the mid-20th century, identification of influenza subtypes became possible, which allows accurate diagnosis of transmission to humans. Since then, fifty confirmed transmissions have been recorded. Rarely, these strains of swine flu can pass from human to human. In humans, the symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like illness in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.

The 2009 swine flu outbreak in humans is due to a new strain of influenza A virus subtype H1N1 that contains genes closely related to swine influenza.[3] The origin of this new strain is unknown. However, the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) reports that this strain has not been isolated in pigs.[4] This strain can be transmitted from human to human,[5] and causes the normal symptoms of influenza.[6]

Pigs can become infected with human influenza, and this appears to have happened during the 1918 flu pandemic[citation needed] and the 2009 swine flu outbreak.[citation needed]

One well known case in 1962 vividly brings home the need for careful behind-the-scenes probing. Once again, it involves an aircraft.



The date was January 8, 1962. A huge 4 engine KB-50 aerial tanker was en route from the east coast to Lajes in the Azores. The captain, Major Bob Tawney, reported in at the expected time. All was normal, routine. But he, his 8 crew and big tanker, never made the Azores. Apparently, the last word from the flight had been that routine report, a report which had placed them a few hundred miles off the east coast.
FLASH! the media broadcasted, fed by a sincere Coast Guard issued press statement, that a large oil slick was sighted 300 miles off Norfolk, Virginia, in the plane’s proposed route. The mystery could be breaking. . . .
But that was the only clue ever found. Although never proved it was from the plane, publicly the suspicions were obvious: the tanker and its qualified crew met a horrid and sudden death by crashing headlong into the sea.
However, the report-- finished months later-- confirmed no such thing. Tawney had been clearly overheard by a Navy transport hours after his last message. This placed him north of Bermuda, hundreds of miles past the spot of the oil slick. There is no evidence, therefore, that the plane and its crew ever met any known fate.
The contradiction was hardly the press’s fault. Nor was it totally the blame of the Coast Guard. As soon as scratchy information came in, it was directed to the by-standing media. But this had misleading effects, as the KB-50 case demonstrated.

With almost every case the same thing has happened. By the time concrete information is obtained, the story has lost its appeal, and no follow-ups ever find their way into the papers. I have tried to stay away, therefore, from relying on any newspaper accounts. These, unfortunately, have almost always been the exclusive source for any popular account of an incident, whether in a magazine or book, previous to this web site.
Approaching the subject from the back door, so to speak, free of the hype and public forum, has yielded more startling information. For instance, no more than a few disappearances of airplanes have been reported in the last 2 decades, yet mystery has struck with skillful hands. They were still ascending. Verdi had not yet rogered reaching his new altitude. Radar continued to track the Cougar until, for some unknown reason, it simply faded away. Verdi and Lukaris answered no more calls to respond. They had sent no MAYDAY to indicate a problem. Read-outs of the radar observations confirmed the unusual: The Cougar had not been captured at all descending or falling to the sea. Frankly, it had just vanished while climbing; it simply faded away. One sweep they were there . . . the next?

Often when faced with what these reports contain, I have come away badly jolted. Improved water services save more than $800,000 annually.


Tamil Nadu Avoids Blackouts via Energy Savings

Tamil Nadu is investing in energy efficiency in the state’s water services and street lighting in 29 of its 45 city authorities. Power bills typically represent 40-60% of the total costs of running urban water plants. In response to this, the Tamil Nadu Urban Development Fund (TNUDF) which invests in infrastructure projects, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and the Alliance to Save Energy (the Alliance) are promoting the concept of Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).


The underlying idea is simple: ESCOs finance the installation of new motors, pumps and pipelines for municipalities, replacing antiquated, energy-consuming machinery. The ESCO guarantees that the municipalities will have 30% reductions in their energy bills. Three ESCOs selected through a tender process will run the project on the condition that efficiency targets are met and maintained. Local administrators are receiving training on the new, intricate financial arrangements called performance-based contracts.




“One of the main challenges of the project has been the adoption of a new procurement process in the form of energy performance based contracts for both street lighting and water pumping. In this type of contract, the services and energy efficiency equipments costs are bundled into the project's cost and are repaid through the generated savings in Rupees,” says Sudha Setty, South Asia Program Manager at the Alliance.

As India’s most urbanised state, Tamil Nadu’s electricity problems are well known. It is home to the largest number of businesses – from car manufacturing to textiles to electronics. With a population similar to France, Tamil Nadu produces only 9.5 gigawatts (GW) of power each year, compared to France’s 118 GW.

As the pilot phase develops, the financial and energy savings identified are substantial. According to Raj Kumar, Senior Manager at TNUDF, they will amount to approximately 40.9 million rupees per annum, or US $800,000 – including the parallel street light energy saving project. To this are added major savings in operational and maintenance costs. If that is reproduced through a rollout all over the state, as he and his colleagues hope, it will make a significant contribution to increased services.

The region’s electricity utility has been supportive of the project from day one as the state has a power crisis. Sudha Setty explains: “The electricity board is a part of the project committee and they are a willing part of this project. They can also use the freed up energy to supply to other needy customers or add new customers.”

The project and its scale-up are part of REEEP’s international mandate to replicate successful energy efficiency models. REEEP and the Alliance previously worked together on energy efficiency in the water sector in South Africa. REEEP also previously funded an ESCO street lighting project in Madhya Pradesh. “We are pleased to contribute to the transfer of successful energy saving models to cities in Tamil Nadu,” states Dr. Marianne Osterkorn, Director General of REEEP. “We look forward to the day when other Indian States can benefit from the learnings generated in this important project.”

தனது வீட்டிலுள்ளவர்களை விமானத்தில் எங்காவது அனுப்பி வைக்கும்படி மாதவன் கேட்பதும், அவரது போலீஸ் நண்பரும், டாக்டரும் அதற்கு உடனடியாக ஒத்துக் கொள்வதும் நம்பும்படி இல்லை. கொலைகாரன் யார் என்பதை மாதவன் தெ‌ரிந்து கொள்வதற்கு சில நிமிடங்களுக்கு முன்பே பார்வையாளர்களால் யூகித்துக் கொள்ள முடிகிறது.

I also didn't know how to find LPG cylinder's expiry date? Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. In this regard please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the Vendor.

Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders:
On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number following this e.g. D06.

The alphabets stand for quarters -
1. A for March (First Qtr),
2. B for June (Second Qtr),
3. C for Sept (Third Qtr),
4. D for December (Fourth Qtr).

The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D06 would mean December qtr of 2006.
Please Return Back the Cylinder that you get with a Expiry Date, they are prone to Leak and other Hazardous accidents...

The second example with D13 allows the cylinder to be in use until Dec 2013

அவளை வரவேற்க வளைவுகளும், விளையாட ஊஞ்சலும், நீராடத் தடாகமும், துயில்வதற்கு மெத்தையும், முக்கியமாய் அவள் தன்னை அடிக்கடி அழகு பார்த்துக்கொள்ள அவளுயரக் கண்ணாடியும் அமை. அவள் கேட்க, துடிப்புகளில் இனிய இசையை உண்டாக்கு. சீக்கிரம்... அதோ அவள் வந்துகொண்டு இருக்கிறாள்!

ஈர்க்கும் படி நட!

இது கொஞ்சம் கஷ்டம்தான். ஆனால், அவளை ஈர்ப்பதற்காக எவ்வளவு வேண்டுமானாலும் கஷ்டப்படலாம்...
ஏன் என்றால், அவ்வளவு கஷ்டத் துக்கும் பரிசாகக் கிடைக்கப்போவது அவளின் அழகான இதயம்.
முதன்முதலாய் உன் கண்களை அவள் கண்கள் சந்திக்கிறபோதுதான் உன் காதல் பரிபூரணமாய் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப் படுகிறது.
கண்ணியம் என்பது அரசியலில் இருக்கிறதோ இல்லையோ, அவளை ஈர்க்கும் உன் முயற்சியில் அது இருந்தால், வெகு சீக்கிரமே அவள் மனதில் பட்டொளி வீசிப் பறக்கும் உன் கொடி!

உறுத்தாமல் பார்!

காதலிப்பதால் கிடைக்கும் சுகத்தில் பாதி சுகம் பார்த்துக் கொண்டு இருப்பதில்தான் இருக்கிறது என்கிறார் வள்ளுவர்.
பார்வைகள் ஒருபோதும் பார்ப்பதால் தீர்வதில்லை. மாறாக வளர்ந்துகொண்டே இருக்கிறது..

'அவளை நினைக்க ஆரம்பித்த பிறகு என்னையே நான் மறந்துவிட்ட தால், அவள் யார் என்பது தெரியாமல் போய்விட்டது' என்று சொல்.
'உன்னை ஞாபகப்படுத்திக்கொள்... அவள் யாரென்பது தெரிந்துவிடும்' என்பாள்.
'அவளை நான் மறந்தால்தானே என் ஞாபகம் எனக்கு வரும்' என்று கேள்.
'அவளை மறந்துவிட வேண்டியது தானே' என்பாள்.
'என் ஆயுள் காலம் வரை அவளை ஞாபகம் வைத்திருப்பேன்' என்பது நிஜமில்லைதான்.
ஆனால், அவளை நான் ஞாபகம் வைத்திருக்கும்வரைதான்...
'நான் உயிரோடு இருப்பேன் என்பது மட்டும் கண்டிப்பாய் நிஜம்' என்று சொல்.
'அப்படியானால் நீ காதலிக்கும் பெண் நான்தான்' என்பாள் தலையைக் குனிந்து.
'எனக்குத் தெரியும்' என்று சொல்.
செல்லமாய் கோபிப்பாள். பிறகு கண்டிப்பாய் கிடைக்கும் அழகான பிகு முத்தம்!

ஓர் உலகம் செய்!

அந்த உலகம் அற்புதமானது.
அங்கே கடற்கரை, திரையரங்குகள் எல்லாம் உண்டு. ஆனால் உங்களைத் தவிர வேற யாருமே இல்லை. அங்கே சில்லென சூரியன் உதிக்கும்... கதகதப்பாய் மழை பெய்யும்.
அந்த உலகம் எங்கே இருக்கிறது என்று கத்தாதே.
நீ உன் காதலியோடு எங்கெல்லாம் செல்கிறாயோ அங்கெல்லாம் அந்த உலகம் இருக்கும்.
ஆனால், நீங்கள் போகும் இடமெல்லாம் உங்கள் பின்னாலேயே வரும் ஒரு ஆப்பிள் மரம்.
அவசரப்பட்டு அந்த மரக்கனியைத் தின்றுவிடாதீர்கள்.

ஒளவியும் ஒளவாமலும் பழகு!

இது என்ன வார்த்தை என்று முழிக்காதே.
தொட்டும் தொடாமலும், பட்டும் படாமலும், அணைத்தும் அணைக்காமலும் என்ற வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாம் கலந்தெடுத்த, காதலுக்கென்றே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட அழகான வார்த்தை இது.
தொடுவானம் எப்போதும் பூமியைத் தொட்டுக்கொண்டு இருப்பது மாதிரித்தான் தெரியும். ஆனால் தொடாது.
அதற்காக வானமும் பூமியும் தொட்டுக்கொள்வதே இல்லை என்று அர்த்தம் அல்ல.

காதல் காலம் என்பது, பார்ப்பதற்கும் பேசுவதற்குமே போதாது.
ஆகையால் இப்போதைக்கு அவளைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டும் பேசிக்கொண்டும் இரு.

Today 02-01-2009.I was seen my best friend on morning 8.00is.
She was across me when I was waiting on the bus.
She was so beautiful but some pimples are affects on her face.
Now she was studying in Sara Nathan Engineering College on Trichy.
I was don’t accept she studying in Trichy because she tell her ambitions was study in Chennai. I feel very happy because I miss her. Thank him for GOD to study in trichy.
After NEW YEAR was just one day, I seen my friend.
Every year birth I was normally fell but when I saw my friend this year was I fell
